Is Separation Anxiety causing you Heartache?

IMG_0447-1

Soothe the ache and discover why.

I was at a loss, my son in Year 3 suddenly developed separation anxiety being dropped at school.

He needed me to physically hand him over to his kind teacher and it was distressing for us both. I wish I knew then, what I know now – there is a way to shed light on the issue.

Kinesiology could help us and release the emotions both he and I were feeling. In my practice as a Kinesiologist I have worked with many children and their mothers with the challenge of  separation and this personal experience has helped me to understand and relate to how my clients are feeling.

  • The situations vary from the child’s and/or Mum’s fears and beliefs, to co-dependency.
  • I’m afraid that Mum will forget to pick me up (often from a past experience).
  • Mum can’t manage without me.
  • The memory of a movie or story creating fear of safety.
  • Being in a constant state of high alert from a traumatic event ( e.g. Getting lost, being left in a car out of a parents sight).
  • Feeling overlooked and wanting more time with Mum.
  • Jealousy of younger siblings at home with Mum and feeling left out.
  • Parents projecting their anxiety and fears to the child.

How do we build independent children who are able to express themselves?

  1. Discover the underlying issue. This is often sub-conscious and accessing the innate knowledge of the body can reveal this.
  2. Release the anxiety on a physical, emotional and energetic level.
  3. Help parents to deal with their own fears for their child that may be contributing to insecurity.
  4. Choose encouraging language to promote confidence, trust and safety.
  5. Nurture the whole person giving the child enough quality time, sufficient sleep and nutrition for the brain and body.

The relief felt by both carer and child when a child feels safe and happy is life changingThere is a solution, take the step and make a change.
